The Internet Is Afraid That Apple Might Be Building Skynet

It might be a bit of a stretch, but it looks like netizens on Twitter are pretty convinced that Apple might actually be the new Skynet; a real-world version of the fictional artificial general intelligence in the Terminator franchise.

Each and every year, Apple pushes forward the limits of advancement and technology, bringing consumers new features year after year.

The company just recently announced the new features that it's going to bring together with this year's set of iPhones at Apple's keynote event, and while iPhone fans are more than excited for the release, netizens are frightened by Apple's progress. How many features will Apple have to put into its iPhones till Skynet finally becomes a reality?

Farfetched as the idea might be, those on social media are nervous that Apple might unknowingly be developing a software like Skynet capable of putting an end to humanity.

Here are some of the comments that have been posted on Twitter:

Not only are netizens worried about Apple's progress, but they're also a bit anxious by the words that the company's been using to market its new phones, talking about "augmented reality, and more importantly "machine learning."

While it might take some time for Apple to create competent artificial intelligence, we're not really sure when Apple's progress could lead to the creation of AI like Skynet.
