It looks like the Superman Brand Routh series is making the rounds on the rumor mill again, but this time word has it that the show is going to be a spin-off of Arrowverse's recent Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover.
There has been a lot of speculation about a Brandon Routh Superman for quite some time now, however, a new post on MandaloRyan's Instagram account says that the positive response to Routh's appearance in the Crisis On Infinite Earths crossover has gotten Warner Brothers talking about the project.
The report claims that Warner Brother is currently planning a limited Brandon Routh Superman series for either The CW or HBO Max, the upcoming streaming service by Warner Media that's set to launch in May this year. The rumor claims that the new Routh series is going to be developed together with the Tyler Hoechlin series that has just been recently greenlit for The CW.
We aren't surprised by the report. Routh did an excellent job in Crisis on Infinite Earths, so it's no surprise that rumors like these are running wild online.
The Superman actor appeared the crossover event as the Superman Returns iteration of the Man of Steel, one who had become the Kingdom Come version written by Mark Waid and illustrated by the legendary comic book artist, Alex Ross. However, when the finale of the crossover event rebooted the DC Multiverse, Routh eventually returned to the version of Superman from the 2006 movie, living his life on Earth-96.
DC's next big movie, Birds of Prey (And the Fantabulous Emancipation Of One Harley Quinn) is set for release on February 5, 2020.
