Stranger Things Reportedly Ending With Season 4

Stranger Things might be one of Netflix's biggest hits, but word has it that Matt and Ross Duffer's phenomenal science fiction horror series may actually come to an end with its fourth batch of episodes.

Sure, fans might be hoping for more from Stranger Things, but while the show's cast and crew have been teasing that the series could probably run as many as five season, a report says that the next batch of episodes is going to be its last.

According to WGTC, Stranger Things is going to end with its fourth season whenever the episodes land because the story can no longer sustain itself any longer with its young cast of children growing up as fast as they do.

"Evidently, the original idea was to end the show after five seasons, but that seems to have been scrapped as so the whole 'kids vs evil' hook can stay 'kids vs evil' and not 'young adults vs evil' if you know what I mean," the site explains. "Of course, this is just a rumor at this point in time but we will make sure to keep up to date on what's going on behind the scenes of the hit Netflix series and pass along word as we hear it."

This shouldn't come as a surprise to fans. The cast and crew of Stranger Things have been open about the show's finite length. In fact, season 3 would have been a decent way to end the series – had not the show teased the possible return of Jim Hopper (David Harbour).

All of Stranger Things three seasons are available on Netflix.
