Star Wars Theory Suggests Baby Yoda Might Make an Appearance in The Rise of Skywalker

Baby Yoda may have just recently been introduced into Star Wars canon thanks to Jon Favreau's new series, Star Wars: The Mandalorian, however, there are some who believe that the show's little green surprise may very well play a role in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.

Though it might seem unlikely for Baby Yoda to appear in Episode IX because of the time gap between The Mandalorian and Lucasfilm's Star Wars sequel trilogy, Inverse suggests that the streaming schedule for the series seems to hint at a potential cameo from the powerful new Force user.

According to the site, the Disney+ series' release schedule "feels like a deliberate hint that there's some kind of direct connection" between the show and The Rise of Skywalker.

The Mandalorian usually has weekly intervals when it airs its episodes, however, the schedule suddenly changes when The Rise of Skywalker is set to premiere in cinemas. Episode 6 of the series is set to air on Friday, December 13, however, Episode 7 is set to arrive five days later on a Wednesday on December 18, a day right before the earliest screening of The Rise of Skywalker.

Then, the season 1 finale of The Mandalorian comes back on December 27, a Friday. Could Favreau have prepared a little twist for everyone in relation to the release of Episode I? Could this twist be the surprise appearance of Baby Yoda in The Rise of Skywalker?

Let's cross our fingers and keep on guessing.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker premieres December 20, 2019.
