Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker Toy Leak Reveals New Detail About Rey’s Training

There's been a lot of concern for Rey (Daisy Ridley) now that Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is inching closer towards its release. Not only are fans worried that Rey might find herself spiraling down the path of the Dark Side in Episode IX, they're also wondering what kind of training the Jakku orphan might be able to have with Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) gone after the sacrifice the Star Wars legend made in Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

Though we can't be really sure what path Rey takes in The Rise of Skywalker, a new toy leak reveals a brand new detail about the Force user's training. After Lucasfilm released the final trailer for Episode IX, fans were wondering about the mysterious helmet that was dropped to the ground while Rey was running through the jungle.

While some have speculated that the helmet serves as a homage to a similar head protecting gear worn by Princess Leia in Star Wars: Return of the Jedi, this new leak is actually part of Rey's training. A new image shows a figure of Rey holding her lightsaber wearing her new helmet while in the middle of the jungle planet set to appear in Episode IX.

Right now we don't really know what kind of role this new helmet might play in Rey's training, but we hope that it helps her become stronger. Rey's going to need all the help she can get now that she's going to face Emperor Palpatine.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker premieres December 20, 2019.
