Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker Novel Confirms Major Battlefront Cameo

It looks like the novelization of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker has confirmed a cameo from a character in Star Wars: Battlefront II.

Thanks to the Expanded Edition of The Rise of Skywalker's novelization, not only do fans get a deeper exploration of some of Episode IX's most important moments, but they also get to read about deleted scenes from the movie. The book has also revealed a few interesting appearances, and that includes a cameo from a character from EA DICE's Star Wars videogame, Battlefront II.

According to a report by Games Radar, Zay Versio crosses over with the cast of The Rise of Skywalker during one of the film's big battles. In the battle of Exegol during the film's final acts, Poe receives some sort of transmission from several ships, and it looks like the Inferno Squad from Battlefront II was part of the reinforcement team.

"Zay Versio with the Inferno Squad standing by. Look at all these ships!" says Zay Versio, the main character of the Resurrection DLC of Battlefront II. She is then cut off by another character cameo, this time by a character from Star Wars: Resistance, Fireball pilot Kazuda Xiono.

It isn't much of a scene, but it does help link together Battlefront II with The Rise of Skywalker. There haven't been that many moments where Star Wars videogame characters make it to Lucasfilm's movies, so it's great to see Zay Versio make it into the novelization of Episode IX.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is currently available on Digital HD.
