Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker Leak Suggests the Death of Kylo Ren

It isn't a surprise to see Star Wars fans worrying about major character deaths in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. Not only is the film going to serve as the final entry in Lucasfilm's Star Wars sequel trilogy, but it's also going to serve as the culminating episode of the Skywalker saga. It only makes sense that fans expect major characters to kick the bucket in Episode IX.

Though Lucasfilm has been trying to do its best to keep The Rise of Skywalker's secrets under wraps before the film's release this December, there are new reports going around revealing a major character death in the highly anticipated Star Wars movie.

According to We Got This Covered, sources have pointed to the death of one of the main characters in Lucasfilm's sequel trilogy – Kylo Ren (Adam Driver). While these sources suggest that Kylo Ren really is going to turn back to the Light by siding with Rey (Daisy Ridley) during the final act of the movie, the estranged son of Han Solo (Harrison Ford) and Leia (Carrie Fisher) is actually going to die at the hands of Palpatine (Ian McDiarmid) in The Rise of Skywalker.

The report claims that there's no way for Kylo Ren to escape his fate and that the sequel trilogy character is going to remain dead even after Episode IX.

Of course, as likely as it sounds for Lucasfilm to kill off Kylo Ren in The Rise of Skywalker, we suggest that readers take this report with a grain of salt. We can't really be certain of anything until Lucasfilm confirms the report itself.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker premieres December 20, 2019.
