Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker Leak Might Ruin The Original Trilogy

Lucasfilm might have been trying its best to keep Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker's secrets under wraps before the film's release later this month, but a few days ago, a major leak revealed six different cameos as well as a few of the deaths that would arise in the movie.

Cameos and character death might already be major news, but the leak also reveals a certain element that actually might "ruin" Star Wars forever.

According to BGR, a new leak from The Rise of Skywalker just recently made the rounds on 4chan, and while we can't be entirely sure about the leak's accuracy, if proven true, then it could ruin Episode IX and the original trilogy. The leak posted on 4chan suggests that the Dark Side of the Force in Lucasfilm's sequel trilogy is controlled by Palpatine. The post claims that Darth Sidious cloned himself after he had foreseen what would happen in Star Wars: The Return of the Jedi in the fight with Luke and with Darth Vader.

"Sheev reveals that he's the REAL one. The Sheev, who died in ROTJ, was merely a clone. Sheev knew that Vader would ultimately betray him, so he prepared several clones in advance for such an occasion while he hid himself on Exogol, tricking the galaxy into thinking he was dead," the leak suggests, "The Knights of Ren are also implied to be clones. During this revelation, another clone walks in, appearing to be far younger than the current Sheev. This clone is played by Matt Smith."

It's a wild theory, but not entirely new. There have been countless others that claim that someone is the clone of the other. Sometimes, these rumors suggest that Rey (Daisy Riddley) is the clone of Palpatine. Others suggest that she's the clone of Dark Side Rey, Palpatine's apprentice.

As exciting as all of these different leaks might sound, fans ought to remember that not everything can be trusted online. We'll just have to wait and see.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker premieres December 20, 2019.
