Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker Kylo Ren and Rey Pairing is Trending Online

It looks like Rey (Daisy Ridley) and Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) are trending on Twitter today.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is just a few weeks away from its release, and Disney has been including emojis from the film in its promotional campaign for the highly anticipated sequel trilogy entry. Earlier this month, Disney revealed emojis that accompanied The Rise of Skywalker hashtags like #TheRiseOfSkywalker, #StarWars, #RiseOfSkywalker, #StarWarsTheRiseOfSkywalker, and #EpisodeIX.

Much to the delight of fans of the Rey and Kylo Ren pairing, netizens have discovered that Disney has included emojis for the couple that comes together with #KyloAndRey and #ReyAndKylo. The hashtags give a crossing lightsaber emoji – fitting for the status between the two.

Rey and Kylo Ren might be on opposite ends of the Force, but the lead characters of Lucasfilm's sequel trilogy have managed to win the hearts of audiences ever since fans noticed the palpable chemistry between the two in Star Wars: The Force Awakens. That chemistry only intensified in Star Wars: The Last Jedi when the two were connected through the Force by Snoke – there's something pretty intimate about sharing Force conversations and touching hands over campfires. At some point, fans hoped that Rey would turn Kylo Ren back towards the light in Episode IX, however, after coming together to defeat Snoke's men in the film, the estranged son of Han Solo (Harrison Ford) and Leia (Carrie Fisher) fell deeper into the Dark Side.

Now, fans can only wonder what's going to happen to the two when Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker premieres on December 20, 2019.
