It looks like Disney decided to celebrate the Star Wars: The Mandalorian ahead of the TV series panel at the 2019 Star Wars Celebration Chicago this weekend.
The Mickey Mouse House recently held an event introducing its upcoming streaming site, Disney+, to shareholders, and not only did the company reveal new details about Star Wars: The Mandalorian, but it also treated the gathering's attendees with the very first footage of Jon Favreau's new Star Wars series.
We're not quite sure whether Lucasfilm plans to release the public and when the studio would release it if it ever decides to, but thanks to The Hollywood Reporter we now have a description of the footage shown to those in attendance.
"The clip shows the back of presumably the Mandalorian in a snowy area. He's holding something in his hand, and he pockets it and walks forward. He wears armor that's meant to look like a medieval knight. There are shots of new planets, new races, new species, and new starships, but, as Favreau said, 'we want it to feel completely connected and familiar,'" the entertainment news site revealed.
While we're hoping Lucasfilm releases the footage online, fans are also on the lookout for more new videos from The Mandalorian at this year's Star Wars Celebration.
The series is getting its own spotlight panel on Sunday with Favreau and executive producer Kathleen Kennedy in attendance. A lot of fans are suspecting that a new trailer for The Mandalorian might be released then.
Star Wars: The Mandalorian is set to drop along with Disney+'s launch on November 12, 2019.
