Star Wars: The Last Jedi’s Kelly Marie Tran Talks About The “Best Thing” About Carrie Fisher

There's a lot of excitement over Star Wars: The Last Jedi, not just because it'll explain some of the fan base's questions after the debut of Star Wars: The Force Awakens back in 2015, but also because it'll show the late Carrie Fisher on the big screen.

A lot of hearts were broken when the Star Wars legend passed away last year, and The Last Jedi's going to be the last film where fans get to see her in cinemas.

Now, as The Force Awakens sequel approaches its release date, Star Wars newcomer Kelly Marie Tran has decided to share a little story about Carrie in an interview with BuzzFeed.

"What a woman. The best thing about Carrie that I witnessed was that she was just purely honest. No matter how messy that was, or how complicated that was," the actress gushed.

Going on to recall a training session meant to check whether she was in good shape for her role as Rose Tico, Tran laughingly remembered how the actress came up and walked on the threadmill smoking cigarettes and drinking soda. Carrie's boldness comforted the newbie.

"I don't know how to explain it — without even protecting me, she was. Just by being herself," Tran explained.

Carrie was a wonderfully honest and comedic woman, and it's beautiful to hear about how she touched the lives around her, even before her sudden passing.

It's going to be hard watching Carrie's final movie when Star Wars: The Last Jedi premieres next month on December 15, 2017.
