Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker Rumors Suggest Han Solo’s Return

Star Wars fans might be eager to see the return of Emperor Palpatine in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, but it looks like Lucasfilm won't just have one major comeback in the third and final film in the sequel trilogy.

Sure, there might have been a whole lot of surprise when Lucasfilm dropped the very first teaser for The Rise of Skywalker. No one was really expecting to hear Darth Sidious' dark cackle at the very end of the clip.

Now, as everyone continues to wait for Palpatine's return, a new report by Making Star Wars (via Express) says that there are rumors running up and down the mill saying that Han Solo might actually return in the film as well.

The site claims to have "sever sources" alleging that Solo has an important sequence together with his estranged son Ben/ Kylo Ren (Adam Driver), the same man who sliced a weapon through his chest in Star Wars: The Force Awakens. According to the report, Han won't return as a Force Ghost in the film, but instead, appear to viewers in a "vision or dream type moment."

Luke's return in the film has already been confirmed, with Mark Hamill set to reprise his role as the Jedi Knight. The only question now is whether we'll get to see Luke in a few flashbacks, or whether we'll get to see the Jedi Master as a Force Ghost in the upcoming Star Wars film.

Do you have any guesses?

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker premieres December 20, 2019.
