Star Wars Reveals What Happened To The Resistance After The Last Jedi

It looks like Star Wars fans don't have to wait for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker to drop in cinemas just to know what happened to the Resistance after the brutal battle with the First Order in Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

Star Wars just recently released its latest novel, Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge A Crash of Fates (via Screen Rant). Written by Zoraida Cordova, A Crash of Fates is set sometime after the destruction of Hosnian Prime and the book takes place on the planet of Batuu.

In the book, we get to learn about what the Resistance doe after The Last Jedi. Apparently, the organization decided to go underground after its escape in Crait. Apparently, General Leia had sent out different operatives across the galaxy to create a network of Resistance cells, including Batuu. These different cells expanded by using the legends of the Rebellion and the Resistance to convince others to join.

Now, hearing the Resistance build and heal itself, one has to wonder whether we'll get to see the group fully healed in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. We don't know how far after the events of The Last Jedi J.J. Abram's new Star Wars movie is going to start from, but we're hoping to see the Resistance a little bit stronger in Episode IX. We need the organization at the top of its game, especially if it has to face the First Order again in The Rise of Skywalker.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker premieres December 20, 2019.
