Star Wars Reveals the Full Origin of The Knights of Ren

The Knights of Ren might not have had that much screen time in Disney's Star Wars sequel trilogy but it looks like Star Wars fans are finally getting the full origin of the group thanks to Star Wars: Rise of Kylo Ren.

While we've learned very little about the Knights of Ren in Star Wars: The Force Awakens and in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, Marvel's canon comic book miniseries The Rise of Kylo Ren offers the whole kit and caboodle when it comes to the followers of Kylo Ren (via Screen Rant).

According to the comic book series written by Charles Soule, the Knights of Ren is a cult centered around a man named Ren who travelled the galaxy looking for followers with some (though weak) Force potential. This man taught his followers to use the Dark Side, calling it "the Shadow." His teachings and philosophy where based on the ways of the Sith.

To become a member of the Knights of Ren, a disciple would have to undergo some sort of initiation where they would have to kill someone that they loved. The Knights of Ren was just one of the many different cults that Palpatine planted across Star Wars' galaxy far, far away to corrupt Ben Solo.

Ben eventually killed Ren in a lightsaber battle after the man forced his disciples to attack two of Ben's former Jedi classmates. After killing Ren, Ben continued down the path to the Dark Side, taking Ren's place as the leader of the Knights of Ren.

It's such a shame that the full story never made it to the big screen. The Knights of Ren were all but wallflowers in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is now available on Digital HD, Blu-Ray, DVD, and 4K Ultra HD.
