Star Wars’ Obi-Wan and Darth Vader Lightsaber Battle Gets a Major Update on Disney+

It looks like Disney added a few updates to Star Wars: A New Hope before putting up the movie on its new streaming site, Disney+.

According to Heroic Hollywood, the lightsaber duel between Obi-Wan Kenobi and Darth Vader in A New Hope has just recently been updated. During the climax of the film, fans get to see Obi-Wan reuniting with his former apprentice, Anakin Skywalker. Unfortunately, Anakin is now Darth Vader, one of the most notorious Sith in the galaxy. The two draw their lightsabers. Obi-Wan's is blue, Vader is red. The two battle for the very last time in the movie.

However, while previous iterations of A New Hope show Obi-wan's lightsaber changing color when it makes contact with Darth Vader's saber, this new iteration of the film gives the weapon a crisp color instead.

It seems like the Disney+ version of the movie has updated the scene to give Obi-Wan's lightsaber a consistent pale blue color throughout the entire battle sequence between the Jedi Knight and Vader.

Of course this isn't the only edit that's been made to the film.

Fans also spotted another major update to the movie, one that Disney confirms was made by George Lucas himself. In the film, fans get to hear Greedo going "Maclunkey" right before Han Solo shoots him at the Mos Eisley Cantina. It's a really strange thing to hear, and the update has since gone viral.
