Star Wars New Saga Reportedly to Begin with Video Game

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is finally screening in cinemas, and now that the third and final entry in Disney's Star Wars sequel trilogy has culminated the entire Skywalker saga, fans are left wondering what Lucasfilm has prepared next for everyone's favorite galaxy far, far away.

Earlier this month, reports pointed towards the return to the High Republic Era. This week, new reports say that the next era of Star Wars movies may begin with a video game. According to a report by Games Radar, a new game by Project Luminous may very well lead directly into a brand new Saga of Star Wars movies.

This new videogame by Project Luminous was something that Disney first announced at the 2019 New York Comic-Con in October last year. Only a handful of Star Wars authors were attached to the project and the Mickey Mouse House teased fans with the game's tagline revealing that "The Force is what gives a Jedi his power. It's an energy field created by all living things. Until...Project Luminous 2020."

According to another report, this time by Hungarian Star Wars fansite Ziro.hu, Luminous' new video game is going to arrive in 2021. Though the site doesn't mention what kind of platforms the game will be made available to, it's very likely that EA games will lead the work on the video game.

This is pretty interesting news. We can only wonder whether Project Luminous new video game will have anything to do with the High Republic, or whether it will explore other stories in the franchise. Let's wait and see.
