Star Wars’ Mark Hamill Celebrates Major Milestone On Twitter

Mark Hamill has always had a strong social media presence on Twitter. Coupled with his reputation as a Star Wars legend, a DC voice actor, and a pop culture icon, it barely comes as a surprise seeing millions of netizens following Lucasfilm's Luke Skywalker on the social media platform.

Now, at the start of 2019, Hamill celebrates a new milestone in his social media journey, thanking his fans and supporters for helping him reach 3 million followers on Twitter. Posting a lovely thank you picture on his Twitter account, Hamill wrote that he was excited to learn that he had finally gathered 3 million followers on the social media site.

However, Hamill doesn't want to stop there. The Star Wars legend also makes a little note about how many more followers he needs to match Katty Perry, one of the most followed celebrities on Twitter.

"Very exciting to realize I only have to gain 103+ Million more to match @katyperry!!!

With 106.9 million followers on Twitter, Hollywood pop singer Katy Perry has become the most-followed celebrity on Twitter, one that Hamill is aspiring for as he continues posting on the site. Given his reputation and his wit, we're pretty sure that the Star Wars legend might be able to reach a couple million more Twitter as the year goes on, especially after the release of Star Wars: Episode IX.

The third and final film in the sequel trilogy, Episode IX is set to feature the return of the jaded version of Luke.

Star Wars: Episode IX premieres December 20, 2019.
