Star Wars Legend Anthony Daniels Admits to Falling Asleep on The Rise of Skywalker

As fast-paced as Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker was, the third and final installment in Disney's Star Wars sequel trilogy just couldn't keep Star Wars legend Anthony Daniels' attention.

The C-3PO star just recently spoke in an interview with CNet after writer Sean Keene took a deep dive into Daniel's memoir, I Am C-3PO: The Inside Story, and during the discussion, the Star Wars actor decided to reveal a tiny little secret.

While Star Wars fans were on the edge of their seats seeing Palpatine (Ian McDiarmid) in The Rise of Skywalker, Daniels had been put to sleep by the film. Apparently, the actor had been drained of energy after traveling for months to for his book-signing and for the promotion of Episode IX.

At the end of it all, Daniels caught a "minor bug" and suffered from a bout of laryngitis when he had been taken to J.J. Abrams' screening room to have a private viewing of The Rise of Skywalker.

"And [I] fell deeply, deeply asleep," the actor admitted, "J.J.'s viewing theater is gorgeously comfortable, it's just wonderful. Too comfortable -- I was exhausted. Christine woke me up just before the end."

While some fans might blame Daniel's little nap on the actor's laryngitis, we wouldn't be entirely surprised if the film had something to do with C-3PO's forty winks either. The Rise of Skywalker suffered from odd narrative choices, and the film ended up being one of the most divisive entries in the franchise.
