Star Wars Leaks Suggest Rey Finds Jedi Parent History On Episode IX’s Jungle Planet

Star Wars: The Last Jedi might have turned Rey (Daisy Ridley)into a nobody, but stubborn Star Wars fans are still clinging on to the hopes that the Force-sensitive Jakku orphan actually has some secret connections to her "real" parents.

Now, with Episode IX currently in production, it looks like a few leaks have regarding the third and final Star Wars sequel trilogy installment have made their way online, and one of the most recent leaks which point to the possible appearance of Rey's "real parents" in the film's jungle planet.

According to Express, a description of an Episode IX storyboard design has just made its way to the internet, and in it, we get to hear about what might be Rey's true parents.

"(It shows) a rear shot of Rey with an ignited lightsaber colored blue. The environment around her is jungle-like at night. In front of her are two figures glowing white," the description reads. "One male and female holding their hands out to Rey. The next has the female's hand touching Rey's face, similar to what Han Solo did before Han Solo died."

Most fans might not like to remember, but in The Force Awakens, Han (Harrison Ford) also touched Kylo Ren's (Adam Driver) face to convince his son to return to the light, only to fail. In the end, the Dark Side wins, and Kylo Ren guts his own father with his Saber.

Though we're not sure whether this face-touching scene will be any better for Rey in Episode IX, based on the description it seems like we'll get to learn that the Jakku orphan's parents are actually Jedi and that two actually cared about their daughter.

Of course, fans ought to take the report with a grain of salt. Sure, it might be exciting to hear that Rey's parents actually weren't the scrappy junkers that Kylo Ren painted them out to be, but rumors are rumors until proven otherwise. Let's just wait and see what happens.

Star Wars: Episode IX hits cinemas December 20, 2019.
