Star Wars Leaks Suggest A New Jedi Force User Like Luke In Episode IX

Lucasfilm might be keeping tight wraps around Star Wars: Episode IX to keep spoilers off the internet, but with the final installment in the studio's sequel trilogy in production, leaks continue to make their way online.

According to Express, one of the newest leaks taken from Episode IX concept art reveal a new Jedi character, and word has it Lord of the Rings actor Dominic Monaghan might be playing the part. A description of Episode IX concept art has been making the rounds online, and according to the leak, fans are going to see a "man with a beard in raggy clothing holding a lightsaber hilt."

Apparently, the character shares a few similarities to Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) back when he was young in Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope, however, he doesn't share the same clothes as a Jedi and looks like he were a slave.

Check out the full description down below:

"His hair is similar in length and color to Luke Skywalker's in A New Hope. His outfit is nothing like a Jedi's, however, but almost as if he was a slave. There are tears in the lower parts of his pants revealing the knees and shins. This character appears to be in his late thirties."

Though fans ought to be advised to take the rumor with a grain of salt, it's also likely that we might be meeting another Force-user in Episode IX. After all, The Last Jedi implied that Luke and Rey (Daisy Ridley) wouldn't be the last Jedi in the galaxy – there would be more to come.

Speculation also has it that this mystery slave Force-user will be played by Dominic Monaghan. Back in 2014, rumors started circulating that Monaghan would have a role in JJ Abrams' The Force Awakens as a Jedi. It might not be The Force Awakens, but with Abrams directing Episode IX, it's possible that Monaghan could have been brought on for the same role. Besides, recent photos of The Lord of the Rings star have shown him in a scruffy beard. Could TLR's Merry really be a Jedi?

Let's wait and see. Star Wars: Episode IX hits cinemas December 20, 2019.
