Star Wars Has Luke Skywalker Learning The Truth Behind Rogue One Mission

Filling in the blanks for Star Wars: A New Hope, Lucasfilm's Star Wars spinoff movie Rogue One: A Star Wars Story was nothing but success, raking in overwhelmingly positive reviews from fans and critics.

Rogue One offered Star Wars fans a story of unsung heroes sacrificing their lives so that the Rebels might get their hands on the Death Star plans, springing towards the opening moments of A New Hope. While fans celebrate the lives of Jyn Erso (Felicity Jones) and Captain Cassian Andor (Diego Luna) the main characters of Star Wars original trilogy remain unaware of the people that struggled, fought, and died to obtain the Death Star plans for the Rebellion.

Thanks to the latest issue in Kieron Gillen, Salvador Larocca and Guru-eFx's Star Wars comic book series (Via CBR), fans get to see Luke Skywalker learning about the team that gave up their lives in Rogue One. In issue 42 of the comic book series, fans get to see Luke heading to Jedha, the "Pilgrim Moon" where Jyn and Cassian meet the Force-sensitive monk Chirrut Imwe and his friend, Baze Malbus. Rogue One fans will also remember Jedha as Saw Gerrera's headquarters and the testing ground of the Death Star and its super laser.

Arriving on the planet, Luke meets Ubin Des, a survivor who was supposed to be part of Jyn's mission. There he hears about Rogue, the suicide mission to obtain the Death Star plans on Scariff.

"Those who were good enough to disobey orders to do the right thing went and died. Those who didn't go are still here," Ubin tells Luke.

Though it's impossible to bring back Jyn, Cassian, Chirrut and the others from death, we're glad to hear that Luke took the time to learn about Rogue One.

Lucasfilm's latest release, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is set to release on Digital HD on March 17 and then on DVD, Blu-Ray and 4K Ultra HD on March 31.
