It's been a while since we've seen Rose Tico (Kelly Marie Tran) make appearances in the promotional material for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. The character's been largely missing from the marketing campaign for Episode IX – she hasn't been in any of the previously released teaser trailers for the film, and she's barely been seen in the merch.
Luckily, it seems like Lucasfilm decided to showcase a bit of Rose in the very first full trailer for The Rise of Skywalker, and it looks like the footage with the former Resistance mechanic is making fans go wild. Taking to Twitter, Star Wars fans are gushing over Rose's short appearance in the video.

The last time that fans got to see Rose, the Resistance Mechanic was suffering from injuries that she gained after saving Finn (John Boyega) from sacrificing himself in the battle between the Resistance and the First Order in Star Wars: The Last Jedi. The next Star Wars movie is going to feature a time jump from Episode VIII, and so, by the time Rose appears in The Rise of Skywalker, the Resistance mechanic has already climbed up the ranks of the Resistance to become a key figure in the battle against the First Order.
Rose's appearance in the trailer reflects her rise in the ranks – we're hoping that it means that we get to see more of her in the film as well.
Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker premieres December 20, 2019.
