Star Wars Ewoks are Monstrous Without Their Fur

George Lucas might have created Ewoks to give Star Wars fans a bit of cute to gush over, but the reaction to Star Wars' fighting bears have been quite complex. Sure, Ewoks might seem cute with their size and their beady eyes, but remember, these Star Wars bears also eat humans, and that's a major turn-off. Not only that but if you take away their fur, Ewoks are nothing but terrifying.

Wicket W. Warrick was one of the central Ewok characters in Return of the Jedi, and somehow, a picture of Wicket costume stripped of its fur has managed to make the rounds online. It's not a lovely picture, we can tell you that.

Star Wars creature concept designer Jake Lunt Davies just recently took to Instagram to share this picture of furless Wicket taken from the BTS extras on the Blu-Ray copy of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. Wicket and his son Pommet appeared towards the end of Episode IX with Warwick Davis reprising his role. His son, Harrison Davis, played Pommet.

You can check out the picture down here:

Furless Ewoks are terrifying, aren't they? They look like a small, bony, bear version of Shrek. It's not a great look, we tell you. Thank goodness Star Wars made sure that the Ewoks kept their fur on.

We're not entirely sure whether we'll get to see more Ewoks now that Star Wars is moving away from the Skywalker saga, but we hope we'll never get to see them this way.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is available for streaming on Disney+.
