Yesterday, news came out that legendary Star Wars composer John Williams had been admitted to a hospital, cancelling his concerts both in London and Vienna. Now, word has it that the musical composer's illness may not only affect his concerts, but it might affect the release of the trailer for Star Wars: Episode IX.
According to a report by Express, rumors started circulating last week that Williams was composing brand new music for the trailer of Lucasfilm's third and final sequel trilogy installment. The leak suggested that word was spreading that a teaser was being attached to the super bowl with the main trailer set for public release during the 2019 Star Wars Celebration in Chicago.
"John Williams will compose a track mixed with music from the prequel and the original trilogies. It will be their way of letting fans subliminally know that prequel content is coming. This special track won't be in the movie but dedicated to the trailer only," the leak reads.
This is definitely big news for Star Wars fans knowing that Star Wars Episode IX is William's last Star Wars project and that the composer is preparing a special track just for the trailer of the movie. While we're definitely hoping that Williams will be able to win over his illness to work on his final magnus opus for the Star Wars franchise, we definitely understand that this might affect the process of producing the trailer for Episode IX.
Right now, William's friend Meastro Drik Brass is taking his place in his concert with the London Symphony Orchestra at the Royal Albert Hall this Friday, October 26.
Star Wars: Episode IX is scheduled for release December 20, 2019.
