Star Wars: Episode IX Soundtrack Title Leak Reveals Devastating Loss And Potential Death

It wouldn't be much of a surprise to see a few major characters die in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. After all, not only does the film serve as the final chapter to Lucasfilm's sequel trilogy, but it also serves as the very final Skywalker saga entry. However, it seems like the soundtrack for Episode IX promises the loss of a beloved Star Wars icon that fans have yet to expect.

According to a new leak that's been making the rounds on Reddit, a new soundtrack title reveals the worrying possibility that the Millennium Falcon might have its final run in The Rise of Skywalker. The leak claims that there's a musical motif in Episode IX called, "The Falcon's Last Ride," a title which suggests that Lando (Billy Dee Williams) or Rey (Daisy Ridley) may end up losing the Falcon during their mission in the film. That or the Falcon may end up getting severely damaged in a battle against The First Order.

"Motifs from previous episodes will be making an appearance including Duel of the Fates. There are only a few more sessions of recording JW's score in LA," the leak reads.

This is big news for Star Wars fans. The Falcon has been more or less a staple in the franchise, and fans have come to love the ship like they would love a character in the movie. It would be heartbreaking to see the Falcon go.

And does the Falcon's destruction include the possibility of losing a character or two as well? Will Lando go down with his ship? Will Chewie? Let's wait and see.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker premieres December 20, 2019.
