Star Wars’ Cyber Drax Rumored To Appear In Episode IX

Star Wars fans might not know much about what J.J. Abrams officially has in store for everyone with his upcoming Star Wars entry, The Rise of Skywalker. However, the internet's been filled with all sorts of interesting rumors and leaks, one of which includes a new villain for the film.

While most fan theories are centered around the return of Emperor Palpatine and his potential connection to Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) and to Snoke (Andy Serkis), there's a new leak suggesting that Episode IX may feature another major baddie that fans would love to see.

According to Making Star Wars, a new leak just recently went out saying that Episode IX may introduce a new villain living "in the Thieves Quarter" of the galaxy far, far away. In a report, "adversary of Zorri Bliss and our heroes" this baddie is supposed to be physically domineering with cybernetic implants. Dubbed as "Cyber Drax," the site says that this villain reminds fans of Dave Bautista's Drax the Destroyer in Guardians of the Galaxy.

Of course, fans ought to take this report with a grain of salt. We've never really heard about this Cyber Drax before – this character could very well follow the same fate as Constable Zuvio, a character who was heavily promoted (and who ended up getting his own toy) before the release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens only to have his scenes cut during post-production.

But still, wouldn't it be cool to see Cyber Drax in Episode IX? Imagine that, Bane, in Star Wars' galaxy far, far away.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker premieres December 20, 2019.
