Star Wars Book Reveals That Darth Vader Was Kidnapping Children

It looks like Star Wars has been hinting that Darth Vader had been kidnapping children in the decades between the prequel trilogy and the original trilogy. Unfortunately, Star Wars offers very little reason as to why the Sith Lord had been taking children from their homes.

Lucasfilm just recently released a new book by George Mann titled Star Wars: Myths and Fables, a compilation of legends fans can find in the galaxy, far, far away (via Screen Rant). The book includes an intriguing story titled the Dark Wraith which comes from the planet Cerosha. Though Ceroshans are a space-faring people, the inhabitants of the planet seem to be a primitive race that doesn't really understand the galactic civilization. When Vader arrived in Cerosha presumably to continue working on the Purge and hunt down the survivors of Order 66, the Ceroshans viewed the Sith Lord as a gruesome spirit that would punish those who did wrong.

Vader is never named in the story. However, it's hard not to recognize the Star Wars villain when he's described as a monster dressed in black with a crimson blade who had mechanical and organic breathing.

Interestingly enough, in the story, the Ceroshans say that the Dark Wraith would slaughter adults and kidnap children from the planet.

What in the world was Darth Vader doing? We assume that the Sith Lord was targeting Force-sensitive children. Was he secretly taking them away to train them? It seems like a stretch considering the Sith's Rule of Two. But then again, it would make sense if Vader was looking for potential apprentices.

Why do you think Vader was kidnapping children? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comment section below.
