Star Wars Battlefront Director Says Battlefront 3 Isn’t Going To Happen Yet

It looks like Star Wars gamers won't be getting Star Wars Battlefront 3 anytime soon.

While some fans of EA's Star Wars Battlefront videogame series might want a third game in the franchise, it sounds like there isn't going to be a Star Wars Battlefront 3 for the time being. Speaking in an interview with PC Games N,Star Wars Battlefront design director Dennis Brannvall admits that the demand for a new Star Wars Battlefront game isn't the same as it used to be.

"Sequels are probably still viable otherwise people wouldn't be doing them, but it's not the same hunger as it used to be," Brannvall told the publication.

"We were so used to the chain of sequels, where we do a sequel then we do a season pass for a year then move onto the next game," the game designed admitted, "I think the industry has changed on that… before it was very transactional and we made the game and we signed up for 4 DLCs and then that's it. So then you focus on getting value to players out of what they paid for and if there was a system that wasn't working then you put a pin in that and say we will fix it in the sequel."

Things have changed for Star Wars Battlefront 2. The game's launch was troubled by major backlash brought on about EA's controversial lootboxes and the publisher had trouble getting the game to sell to fans. EA had to make major changes to the game's monetization system to entice fans to come back and the videogame developer has continued adding new things to the game, making Star Wars Battlefront 2 better than ever.

Right now, Star Wars gamers on Battlefront 2 are enjoying the different modes and characters being added into the game, so much so that it seems like EA would rather continue focusing on the current Battlefront game than to pump out a sequel.
