Star Wars Announces the Publication of The Jedi Mind

It looks like Lucasfilm is publishing a brand new book teaching fans about the ways of the Jedi.

Posting on the official Star Wars website, Lucasfilm Publishing announced the arrival of Star Wars: The Jedi Mind, a book by Amy Ratcliffe, the author of Star Wars: Women of the Galaxy and contributor to the upcoming short anthology, The Empire Strikes Back: From a Certain Point of View.

The Jedi Order has often been linked with the tenets of real-world Eastern Religions, and The Jedi Mind book tries to draw these connections to help Star Wars fans apply lessons in their own lives.

The book is a guide to mindfulness and the appreciation of the practice of mindfulness all interwoven in Jedi teachings. The Jedi Mind also offers beautiful illustrations from Christina Chung to help visualize the bite-sized meditational teachings of the Jedi.

Star Wars fans will love how the book connects major Jedi to real-life aspects of mindfulness along with suggested practices that readers can do themselves.

Speaking in an interview with Ratcliffe, Lucasfilm asked what the author hoped that readers would get out of the book.

"My wish is that readers find at least one practice to help them savor a moment. To experience it fully. Because mindfulness isn't about zoning out, it's about tuning in with all our attention," Ratcliffe told the publication, "And to readers unfamiliar with mindfulness, my hope is that framing practices in the context of Star Wars will encourage them to take their first steps into a larger world."

Mindfulness is something everyone needs in times like these.

Star Wars: The Jedi Mind is set to release sometime this fall.
