Star Wars Actor John Boyega Accidentally Gets Engaged to Fan on Twitter

Star Wars fans found themselves surprised when Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker actor John Boyega had seemingly "accepted" an online marriage proposal.

A young Star Wars fan decided to take to Twitter to share a video of herself proposing to the British actor who plays Stormtrooper-turned-Resistance-Fighter Finn. Interestingly enough, another fan decided to make a convincing dupe profile of Boyega to accept the offer.

Logging on to the social media site, Boyega was surprised to find everyone talking about how he had gotten engaged on social media. It must have been a shock for the Star Wars actor to see the internet buzzing about an engagement he knew nothing about, but Boyega was all game, joking about the proposal.

"Pls why is the TL saying I've just accepted marriage proposal? Lol I'm here minding my own business oo," the actor tweeted earlier this week.

Jumping in on the fun, fans decided to share gifs and pictures of brides being left at the altar after Boyega found out that he had been secretly shipped off into an online marriage.

One fan even decided to share a GIF of Homer Simpson wearing a wedding dress, waiting for his groom by the staircase of his home.

"Nah, I'm outta here! Jeohvah be with you all!" Boyega responded.

It's certainly been an interesting week for Boyega. Getting married is a lifetime commitment, and accepting a proposal, even one made online, has a whole lot of weight to it. Luckily, it's all been fun and games for everyone.
