Star Wars 9 Leaks Reportedy Describes Rey's “Family Reunion” Including Her Child And Her Brother
Leaks from Star Wars: Episode IX just keeps pouring out online despite Lucasfilm’s efforts to keep the film’s secrets under wraps, and now it likes one of the newest reports describes a scene of Rey (Daisy Ridley) together with her family which includes her brother and possibly even her child.
While some fans enjoyed how Star Wars: The Last Jedi subverted their expectations by turning Rey’s parents into nobodies, some have been still holding on to the hopes that Episode IX might retcon the Jakku Orphan’s parentage. A hero as powerful as Rey can’t be without any connection to legacy characters like Obi-Wan (Ewan McGregor and Alec McGuinness) or Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill).
Now, according to a new report by Express, leaks have been teasing a “family reunion” for Rey. Not only does the scene include Rey’s brother, but it also describes what potentially could be Rey’s child.
“A description dubbed ‘Family Reunion’ has Rey in a black vest white tunic and grey pants. Next to her is a young adult male that has a striking resemblance to Rey. He has longish brown hair similar to Obi-Wan’s from Attack of the Clones but the hair is all one length. He wears a beige robe with brown gloves. The pants are colored white with a black belt and dark brown cape. Rey’s hand rests on his shoulder.
Behind them is an older man with a ponytail and to the left of Rey is a woman with dirty blonde hair and a white outfit. In front of them, all is a young boy with black hair. They all stand on a cliff with a sunset background.”
While this news might be exciting for fans hoping for Jedi parents for Rey, readers ought to be reminded to take the leaked scene with a grain of salt. A rumor remains a rumor until a confirmation is made, and it seems a bit farfetched that Episode IX is going to undo the history built by The Last Jedi simply to assuage a few Star Wars fans.
What do you think of this new leak? Could we see Rey’s family in Episode IX?
