Stan Lee’s Cause Of Death Has Finally Been Revealed

There was so much heartbreak when word broke out last, last week that Marvel comic book legend Stan Lee had passed away after being brought to the hospital from his Hollywood Hills home. The Marvel comic book writer, editor, and publisher had been such a big influence on pop culture, and so many grieved after hearing of his passing. Now, Lee's cause of death has finally been released.

According to a new report by TMZ, the death certificate of Lee lists down the reason why the Marvel legend passed away earlier this month. Not only did the pop culture icon experience both heart failure and respiratory failure, but he was also found with aspiration pneumonia as a contributing factor– a condition that occurs when an individual inhales stomach acid, saliva, or food into the lungs.

On Monday, November 12, Lee was rushed to the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles for medical attention, however, he didn't make it out of the hospital alive. Lee was then later on cremated and his remains were given to his only daughter, JC. He was laid to rest on Saturday, November 17, during a private closed ceremony in accordance with his final wishes.

Lee's passing caused so much heartache. Not only was Lee a big name in the comic book industry, creating iconic characters like Iron Man, Spider-Man, Thor, and so many more; the comic book legend also helped build the Marvel Cinematic Universe, creating the idea of a shared universe. Besides all of that, Lee genuinely loved his fans and he was a strong advocate of diversity, knowing that it wasn't right for others to be oppressed just because they were different.

Our hearts will forever be with Lee. May he rest in peace.
