Spider-Man: Far From Home’s Tom Holland Reveals Deleted Star Wars Scene

It might be a bit difficult to imagine Spider-Man: Far From Home being connected to the Star Wars franchise, but it looks like the Spider-Man: Homecoming sequel was actually supposed to include a nod to everyone's favorite galaxy far, far away.

Spider-Man star Tom Holland's been busy making the promotional rounds for his second standalone film, Spider-Man: Far From Home. Speaking in an interview with Uproxx to help promote the film, the Marvel star revealed that his new movie was actually supposed to have a Star Wars nod.

"There was a scene that was cut from the film where Peter Parker went and sold all his toys to get the money in order to buy MJ a present," Holland told the publication, "And one of the toys, it was Kevin Feige, he said, ‘I need this toy to be in there.' I forget what it's called, but it's a really niche Star Wars character and then I end up not selling that toy."

When asked what the toy was, Holland said that he wasn't sure.

"I don't know if it was a rare one, I just know that it was just not one of the mainstream ones," the Marvel star added.

It turns out the action figure was of Lobot, a droid that works as Lando Calrissian's aide in Cloud City in Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back. Such a shame that the scene was cut from the film – there have been rumors going around that Lobot may very well make an appearance in the upcoming Star Wars film, The Rise of Skywalker. After all, Billy Dee Williams is reprising his role as Lando, and who better to accompany him than his trusty droid?

Spider-Man: Far From Home is going to swing into cinemas on July 2, 2019.
