Spider-Man: Far From Home Just Beat Spider-Verse At The Box Office

It's only been a few weeks since the release of Spider-man: Far From Home but it looks like the Spider-Man: Homecoming sequel is swinging high into the box office.

Box Office Mojo has the latest report on Far From Home, and it looks like the film is on its way to become one of the highest grossing Spider-Man entries of all time with its latest numbers swinging it ahead of another fan-favorite Spider movie, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.

In more or less two weeks in cinemas, Tom Holland's second Spider-Man standalone movie has managed to rake in a global total of $603 million. Interestingly enough, $211 million of that sum goes to the film's domestic haul, placing the movie above Spider-Man:Into the Spider-verse which only made $190 million at the domestic box office during its entire theatrical release. The film is also well above the $202.8 million that The Amazing Spider-Man 2 earned from North American cinemas during its run.

Of course, we shouldn't really be surprised by Far From Home's success. For one, the film is riding on the coattails of Avengers: Endgame. Fans have been eager to learn more about the aftermath of Endgame, especially when it comes to how Peter Parker deals with the loss of Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.)

Not only that, but the film's received a lot of critical acclaim, with fans praising the film for its unpredictability and for its style. Fans also couldn't help but love Jake Gyllenhaal's Mysterio and the many twists in the film.

Hopefully, Far From Home continues on this path of success.
