Sony Is Hoping To Have A Few Avengers Cameos In Its Spider-Verse

Sony seems pretty eager about building up its Spider-Verse. With Venom on the road to release this October, the studio's already come up with its own name for the string of Spider-Man Adjacent Character films it has planned after Venom, calling its Spider-Verse the "Sony's Universe of Marvel Characters."

Now, in a detailed report by Variety, Marvel fans get to learn about Sony's plans for the SUMC, and it looks like the studio is pretty open to having a few Marvel cameos in its films.

After having the deal where Sony joined forces together with Marvel Studios to work on Spider-Man: Homecoming, the studio now says that it's open to having the other characters from the "Sony's Universe of Marvel Characters" like Tom Hardy's Venom and Jared Leto's Morbius The Living Vampire pop up in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Of course, in exchange, the studio is hoping that a few Avengers would pop up in its own SUMC movies, maybe for a cameo or two.

This is definitely exciting news for Marvel fans. In the past, Marvel characters were kept separate because of the different ownership of different studios. But now it looks like Sony is trying to work hand in hand with Marvel. And that's not all either – if and when the deal between 21st Century Fox and Disney finally push through, then the X-Men, Fantastic Four, and all the other mutants can finally make their way to the MCU. These are definitely exciting times that we live in.

Venom hits cinemas October 5, 2018.
