Shazam’s Zachary Levi Doesn’t Think He Can Play Flynn Rider In A Live-Action Tangled

Disney fans might want to see Zachary Levi play Tangled's Flynn Rider on the big screen if ever Disney decides to adapt the Rapunzel computer-animated musical adventure, but it seems like the DC Extended Universe star doesn't really want to take the part.

Levi just recently attended at a panel at the 2019 CCXP convention at Cologne (via ComicBook.com), and during his discussion, the Shazam! star was asked which Disney Prince he'd most like to play in a future live-action movie. Though the actor who voiced Flynn Rider would want to reprise the role in a live-action remake of Tangled, Levi says that he might just be a bit too old for the role.

"As much as I would love to play Flynn Rider in a live-action Tangled, by the time they get around to that, I don't think I'm gonna be the right guy to play that role [laughs]. I'll be there coaching that guy, I'll make sure he understands what that smolder means," the comic book movie actor explained, "but I think my hair will be like Steve Martin white by the time they do a live-action Tangled. So in lieu of playing Flynn Rider in a live-action Tangled, I would say, I don't know... Ariel from The Little Mermaid, maybe."

We know that Levi's just playing around when he says he wants to play Ariel – the silly goose knows that Disney already cast Halle Bailey as its new Ariel for its The Little Mermaid live-action remake. Besides, who knows if Disney's going to make a live-action remake of Tangled. It's way too soon for the film to get a remake. Disney fans ought to remember, Tangled was released just eight years ago in 2011.

Also, we're secretly hoping that Disney gives up on the remakes and starts focusing on original films instead. The Lion King is the sixth Disney remake to get a Rotten score on Rotten Tomatoes – it might be high time for the Mickey Mouse House to move on with a different strategy.

The Lion King is set to premiere tomorrow, July 19, 2019.
