Shazam! Star Zachary Levi Had More Fun Working For DC Than For Marvel

Zachary Levi might be currently known as the DC Extended Universe's Shazam, but once upon a time the Tangled voice actor also appeared in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, starring in Thor 2 and Thor 3 as Fandral.

Speaking with fans at the MegaCon in Orlando this weekend (via ComicBook.com), the Shazam! star spoke with fans answering a number of questions about his various roles over the years. When asked by one fan which franchise was the most fun to work with, Levi's answer was hands down DC.

"Everything's a competition, isn't it?" Levi joked. "Well, I mean, I had more fun working for DC. I mean, I got to be my own superhero with DC, bro. It was super cool that I was cast, although I wasn't able to do the first Thor, I was cast in that by Kenneth Branagh, who I think is an incredible talent."

It wouldn't be a surprise to hear that Levi enjoyed working for DC more than Marvel. Not only was Shazam! a major critical success for the DCEU, but it was also a pretty enjoyable film – one that may have translated to the movie's production.

Thor 2 on the other hand, wasn't as well-received by critics. Thor: Ragnarok might have been enjoyable to work on with the actor admitting that he loved playing Fandral the Dashing, he only had a very minimal role in the movie.

We can't wait to see Levi suit up again for another Shazam! movie with Captain Marvel and his family.

Shazam! is set for release on DVD and Blu-Ray on July 16.
