Robert Pattinson's Batman And The Flash May Be Part Of A DCEU Reboot

The DC Extended Universe may have had commercially successful entries, however, the interconnected comic book movie franchise struggled to find its footing with films like Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and with Justice League.

Sure, the DCEU may have been able to taste success with Wonder Woman and with Aquaman, however, there are rumors going around saying that Warner Brothers may be planning a soft reboot for the franchise, and now, a new report by We Got This Covered suggests that it may involve Robert Pattinson's Batman, a young Superman, as well as the Flashpoint in The Flash movie.

According to the site, Robert Pattinson's version of the Dark Knight may very well make his way into the DCEU through the Flashpoint storyline in Ezra Miller's very first The Flash standalone movie.

In the Flashpoint comic book story arc, Barry Allen unwittingly changes reality when he tries to go back in time to save his mother. The altered timeline is much, much different compared to the regular timeline that comic book fans have come to know. Cyborg takes Superman's place as the planet's quintessential hero. Meanwhile, Clark Kent is held as a lab-rat by the US government. Wonder Woman and Aquaman are waging war against each other, decimating most of western Europe in the process. Thomas Wayne becomes Batman instead of Bruce after witnessing the murder of his son. His wife, Martha, becomes the Joker.

Pattinson's Batman joining the DCEU sounds interesting, however, it doesn't really fit the Flashpoint story. Unless DC decides to tweak the storyline.

Let's wait and see.

The Batman premieres June 25, 2021.
