There's a lot of excitement building up over Matt Reeve's The Batman. Not only are DC fans curious to see Robert Pattinson's take on the Dark Knight, but everyone's also eager to see what kind of noir mystery Reeves is going to bring the Caped Crusader into. The past few weeks fans have been getting various casting news about the film with Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald star Zoe Kravitz nabbing the Catwoman role and then with talks with Jonah Hill for a villain role breaking down.
Now, new reports say that the film will begin production sooner than fans might have expected. Pattinson just recently spoke with The New York Times about his recent work with director Christopher Nolan, and during the interview, The Batman star briefly opened up about his upcoming DC film and his filming schedule.
The actor was asked what he felt like transitioning from an art-house project to a major blockbuster like The Batman and according to Pattinson, he still has a few months to panic over his new role.
"I mean, "Dunkirk" is almost an art-house movie! Chris Nolan is literally the one director who can make an art-house movie for hundreds of millions of dollars, so it doesn't really feel like a studio thing," the Twilight actor told the publication.
According to Pattinson, he would have been nervous about the idea of working on The Batman if he had done it years ago, however, there are still a few months left before Reeves begins shooting the film.
"Plenty of time to have a panic attack!" the actor joked.
Guess this means that we can expect The Batman to begin production soon, perhaps early next year or by the middle of 2020. The production might hit a few snags here and there finding the rest of its cast, but we're sure things are going to go on just fine.
The Batman is set to premiere on June 25, 2021.
