Pedro Pascal Reportedly Playing Maxwell Lord In Wonder Woman 1984

Warner Brother might have been keeping wraps on Pedro Pascal's character in Wonder Woman 1984, however, new reports suggest that the Kingsman: The Golden Circle actor might actually be playing the supervillain Max Lord.

Last week, SuperBroMovies shared details about the involvement of Pascal's character in the resurrection of Chris Pine's Steve Trevor in the Wonder Woman sequel. Now the site has posted an update on the report, saying that Pascal won't be playing an undercover god but instead will be taking on the role of Maxwell Lord, a shrewd and powerful businessman in DC.

For those who aren't familiar with the character, Max Lord is the founder of Lord Technologies and initially works behind the scenes to help found the Justice League. Under the control of Metron, Lord becomes a supervillain, however, once free of the super computer's influence, he becomes an amoral businessman.

In the Invasion storyline, Lord gains powers that allows him to control the mind of others, and during the Infinite Crisis arc Wonder Woman ends up killing Lord by snapping his neck.

According to the SuperBroMovies, Lord will be stripped of his power in Wonder Woman 1984. Powerless, Lord will then attempt to become a god. The DCEU version of the character will have ties to the Greek gods in some way, and once he attains godhood, Lord will raise Trevor from the dead.

It seems like a rather complicated arc, but then again, Lord has had a rather strange storyline in the comics for the past few decades. It wouldn't be farfetched at all for Pascal to play a version of Maxwell Lord seeking godhood.

Wonder Woman 1984 hits cinemas November 1, 2019.
