There might not have been that much updates on Marvel's highly-anticipated Loki series, however, there seems to be a new report claiming that Owen Wilson's role in the project has finally been revealed.
According to a post by the popular Marvel insider news YouTube channel Everything Always, insiders have confirmed that Owen Wilson is definitely playing Kang the Conqueror, a time-traveling entity that's appeared in various Marvel titles throughout the years.
A popular Marvel comic book villain, Kang has appeared in many different forms throughout the Marvel universe, though he was originally a villain of the Fantastic Four. Because of his deep comic book history and the fact that he can travel through time, it seems fitting that Kang would appear in Marvel's upcoming Loki series.
"Time travel is no laughing matter. Ever since it was announced that Owen Wilson was cast in the upcoming Disney Plus TV series Loki, speculation exploded who he could be playing," Everything Always explains in his video.
According to the Marvel scooper, it makes perfect sense for Kang to appear in the series. Photos taken from the set of Loki have revealed Loki (Tom Hiddleston) dressed in a Time Variance Authority uniform – an outfit which would suggest that the Asgardian God of Thunder used the Tesseract so much that he would have to be apprehended by the TVA.
Everything Always says that quite a number of Marvel Studios insiders have already backed up the information, declaring Wilson as the Marvel Cinematic Universe's new Kang the Conqueror.
While we have to wait for confirmation from Marvel, having Wilson play Kang doesn't seem like an entirely farfetched idea. Wilson has a lot of star power, and if Kang does great in Loki, he could very well appear in future Marvel movies. Let's wait and see.
