Obi-Wan Kenobi Series’ Episode Count Revealed

It looks like we finally have new details about Lucasfilm's upcoming Obi-Wan series.

Aside from that announcement at this year's D23 Expo confirming Ewan McGregor's return as everyone's favorite Jedi Knight in a new Obi-Wan series for Disney's upcoming streaming site, we've barely gotten any info about the project. For the past few weeks, Disney has been focusing on marketing Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker and Jon Favreau's Star Wars: The Mandalorian.

Luckily it seems like McGregor has decided to share a few details about his new series in an interview with Men's Journal. During the discussion with the magazine, the Star Wars prequel trilogy star revealed that the untitled project would consist of six hour-long episodes and that it would be set eight years after the events of Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith.

"The storyline sits between Episode III and Episode IV," McGregor explained, saying that "the Jedi Order was falling apart. It will be interesting to take a character we know in a way and show him—Well, his arc will be quite interesting, I think, dealing with that the fact that all the Jedi were slaughtered with the end of Episode III. It's quite something to get over."

Star Wars fans were pretty excited when they heard that Lucasfilm was creating a series for Kenobi. Obi-Wan has always been a fan-favorite character and there have long since been rumors going around saying that Lucasfilm was considering creating a movie for the Jedi Knight. The rumors died down eventually, and the studio surprised fans when it revealed that it would be creating a series for Uncle Ben instead.

Lucasfilm's Obi-Wan series doesn't have a release date just yet, but we'll update everyone as soon as we get word.
