Nova Reportedly Set As Villain For Captain Marvel 2

Marvel fans might have long since been clamoring for Nova to make his way into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, however, the cosmic superhero has yet to make an appearance in the Marvel franchise.

Now, a new rumor suggests that Nova may make his MCU debut soon, this time in Captain Marvel 2.

According to TVO and The Lords of the Long Box Channel, there's a rumor going around saying that Nova may very well appear in Marvel Studio's Captain Marvel sequel, this time as a villain. According to the report, Richard Rider is going to be trained in space by Captain Marvel under the supervision of Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson).

It's an interesting rumor. Sure, Nova might be as much of a cosmic superhero as Captain Marvel, but the two never really connected with each other in the comics. Turning Nova into a villain is also a major point of interest – we can't wait to see how comic book fans would react to a fan-favorite superhero turning to the Dark Side.

Of course, as with any rumor, we advise fans to take this report with a major grain of salt. Marvel has yet to announce its plans for Captain Marvel 2. The movie didn't make it in Marvel's list of Phase 4 entries and the studio has yet to announce the films the studio has lined up for Phase 5 of the MCU.

What do you think? Would you like to see Nova as a villain in Captain Marvel 2? Or would you rather have the hero in another movie?
