Nick Fury Might Not Be In Avengers: Endgame

Samuel L. Jackson's Nick Fury might have been in the end-credits scene of Avengers: Infinity War but it looks like the Marvel star won't be appearing in the film's sequel, Avengers: Endgame. Not only does the Avengers and Captain Marvel actor say that he hasn't been able to read the script to the most highly anticipated comic book movie of 2019, he also suggests that he won't be in Infinity War's sequel.

Jackson just recently spoke in an interview with the Happy Sad Confused podcast to help promote Captain Marvel and during his discussion with the podcast's hosts, the popular Hollywood star was asked whether he would read complete Marvel scripts.

"Not Avengers: Endgame, no. I generally read the scripts I'm in," Jackson answered. "I don't just go to my part [laughs]."

Jackson was probably asked about script-reading because of Marvel's tenacity for secrecy. In order to avoid spoilers from leaking out to the public, Marvel directors sometimes limit actors to the parts of the script that they've got to play in their films. At some point, directors like Joe and Anthony Russo even created fake scripts to mislead the fanbase. They even filmed entirely fake scenes.

Going on with the interview, Jackson admitted that he would thumb through his scripts when Marvel approached him for cameos like the one he had in the 2008 Iron Man movie.

"I used to. Or I'll do it when somebody sends me a script and they say, ‘We want you to do a cameo here,' I'll go look for what that cameo is, and depending upon what that cameo is, it may entice me to go back and read what happened before and what happens after," he said.

It's such a shame that Nick Fury won't be in Endgame. He's a pretty fun character to have.

Avengers: Endgame is set to premiere on April 26, 2019.
