New Star Wars Fan Theory Explains the Real Reason Why Moff Gideon Wants Baby Yoda

Star Wars: The Mandalorian has made it pretty clear that the remnants of the Empire want Baby Yoda in their hands. But for what?

While Star Wars fans patiently wait for the next season of Jon Favreau's hit live-action Star Wars series, some have taken to Reddit to cook up some interesting theories about The Mandalorian. One of the most recent fan theories to make the rounds online tries to shed light on the origin of Moff Gideon (Giancarlo Esposito) and the reason why he so desperately wants to capture Baby Yoda.

According to a popular fan theory posted on Reddit, Moff Gideon is trying to emulate the Empire's legendary Sith Lord, Darth Vader. The Redditor tries to point out similarities between the remnant warlord and the legendary Star Wars villain, taking note of how Gideon opts to wear a long flowing cape and brandish a Darksaber (seen in the final shot of The Mandalorian).

The reason why Gideon might want Baby Yoda is so that he can understand the child's Force Sensitivity. The theory claims that the Moff wants to experiment on Baby Yoda so he can acquire Force Sensitivity to become more like Darth Vader.

It might seem a little bit outrageous, but in the first season of The Mandalorian, we get to see the child being taken to the client to have tests done by Doctor Pershing. The moment Mando (Pedro Pascal) leaves the child with the client, Pershing takes him away to take a few extracts from Baby Yoda.
