New Doctor Strange 2 Fan-Art Shows Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man in the MCU

Marvel fans woke up to surprising news today. Word broke out that Marvel was in negotiations with Spider-Man director Sam Raimi for him to take over Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness after the film's original director Scott Derrickson parted ways with Marvel in January.

The news surprised fans because, for one, no one was really expecting Marvel to approach Raimi to work on a brand new film franchise for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. While Marvel has yet to complete its deal with Raimi, there have been numerous sites online wondering whether Raimi's new job as Doctor Strange 2's director might allow the filmmaker to bring his own version of Spider-Man into the MCU.

Now, it looks like Boss Logic is wondering the same thing. Taking to Twitter, the fan artist decided to share a brand new picture for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness showing Tobey Maguire's version of Spider-Man finding his way into the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Check out the post in the tweet below:

We understand why fans might be wondering whether having Raimi in Doctor Strange 2 might allow the filmmaker to bring Maguire's old version of Peter Parker into the MCU. For one, Raimi's largely been known by comic book movie fans as the director behind Sony's infamous Spider-Man movies. Another reason why fans are wondering whether Marvel might explore other Spider-Men in other universes is that Sony has always been open to the idea of Spider-Man jumping through different universes. Why not have him go through different universes in the MCU?

What do you think? Are we going to see Maguire's Spider-Man on the big screen again? Let's wait and see.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is set to premiere on May 5, 2021.
