Black Widow’s promotional videos might feature the reunion of Natasha Romanoff’s (Scarlett Johansson) Russian “family,” however it seems like a new leak suggests that there’s a traitor among the Avengers’ brothers and sisters.

Adding on to previous leaks claiming that Taskmaster will be revealed as Mason (O-T Fabgenle), Natasha Romanoff’s former romantic partner, a new post on Reddit (via Cosmic Book News) suggests an even bigger twist in Black Widow. According to the entertainment news outlet, Marvel fans are going to learn that Melina Vostokoff (Rachel Weisz) and Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh) are actually traitors to Natasha.

At the end of the film, fans are going to see Melina and Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh) secretly working with Thaddeus Ross (William Hurt). In the very first post-credit scene in Black Widow, Yelena and Taskmaster meet together with Ross, handing a flash-drive that somehow has a narrative significance in Black Widow. Ross then tells the two that the show’s just getting started, hinting at more to come for Natasha.

This is interesting news. Not only does this leak suggest that Melina and Yelena are both going to betray Natasha in the long run, but it also suggests that there’s more to Black Widow’s story after the character’s very first standalone film. Could Marvel be planning a sequel to the new movie? Maybe the studio’s preparing a brand new series for Disney’s streaming site, Disney+?

Whatever it is, let’s wait and see.

Black Widow is set for release on May 1, 2020.
