Earlier today, word came out that The Office star Mindy Kaling had teased in an interview that she had talked with Marvel Studios about working on a potential Ms. Marvel property. However, now that fans are all riled up over the possibility of seeing Khamala Khan making her way in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Kaling is denying claims that she understands the inner workings of Marvel Studios and the company's thoughts on the Ms. Marvel property.
Taking to Twitter this afternoon, Kaling clarified the rumors, explaining that while she really does enjoy the narrative for Ms. Marvel/Kamala Khan , she has no idea whether or not Marvel is planning to work on a movie or television series for the character.
"Hi everyone, I love Ms. Marvel (aka Kamala Khan) and the geniuses behind her @GWillowWilson@MiniB622@Marvel, but I have no information about any tv or film adaptation! Wish I did though, when that hits the screen it's gonna be huge," the actress wrote on Twitter.
It seems like Kaling may have gotten herself into some major trouble with Marvel for teasing an upcoming Khamala Khan project. That or the actress might just want to make sure that Marvel's secret stays safe.
Of course, this isn't the first time that Kamala Khan's come up in the conversation about the future of the MCU. Fans have been hankering for a Ms. Marvel appearance ever since the introduction of Brie Larson's Carol Danvers in Captain Marvel. We're hoping that we get to see Ms. Marvel soon, perhaps in Phase 4 film.
Marvel's latest release, Avengers: Endgame, is currently screening in cinemas.
