Marvel’s Tom Hiddleston On Whether He’d Be Willing To Play A Female Loki

Thanos (Josh Brolin) might have chocked Loki (Tom Hiddleston) to death during the opening of Avengers: Infinity War, however, fans are still holding on to the hope that the Asgardian God of Mischief might return, and some are hoping that he might come back as a girl this time around.

Loki's always had a playful tendency to change age and gender in comics, and fans were wondering whether they'd ever get the chance to see a female version of the character and whether whether Hiddleston would be up to the task of playing the role.

Speaking with fans at this year's ACE Comic-Con in Chicago last weekend (via ComicBook.com), the Marvel star was asked by a fan whether or not he'd be willing to appear as a female Loki in a future Marvel film. As interesting as it may sound, Hiddleston would rather not play the role.

"I think, if anyone wants to tell that story, I'm not the guy," admitted the actor. "I think that needs to be a woman or someone who identifies as a woman."

Of course, if Marvel were to resurrect Loki as a female, then a woman ought to play the role. Sure, Hiddleston's performance as the Asgardian God of Mischief has been nothing but exceptional, his charm and wit turning Loki into one of the most popular characters in the MCU, however, it wouldn't make sense for the actor to play a female version of Loki.

What do you think? Would you want to see Hiddleston force himself and play a female Loki? Or would you rather have a woman play the character instead?

Infinity War's sequel, Avengers 4, is set to premiere on May 3, 2019.
