Marvel’s Robert Downey Jr. Reportedly Made $75 Million Thanks To Avengers: Endgame

Without a doubt, Avengers: Endgame was the biggest Marvel movie of the year. Not only did the film enjoy rave reviews from fans and critics, it also enjoyed overwhelming commercial success, raking in more than $2.7 billion at the global box office.

Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) was at the forefront of the movie, sacrificing himself to put an end to Thanos (Josh Brolin) and his army before the Mad Titan decides to wipe out all of life in the universe. It was quite the send-off, breaking the hearts of Marvel fans all over.

Now, it looks like Endgame gave Robert Downey Jr. quite the send-off too. According to a new report by Forbes, the Marvel actor got a pretty big paycheck for his work in Endgame. Aside from his $20 million dollar salary, Downey got a little extra from the film. Thanks to Downey's 8% cut of the back-end profits of Endgame, the Marvel star managed to earn an extra $55 million from the deal.

Downey's likely to earn a little more seeing that Endgame hasn't completed its run in theatres yet.

Marvel decided to rerelease the movie so that it could beat Avatar as the highest grossing film of all time. The studio even tried to lure fans back to cinemas with the promise of "seven minutes of extra footage." The film has yet to cross Avatar's numbers, but it's slowly getting there. We'll just have to wait and see if Endgame can really make the threshold.

Avengers: Endgame is currently screening in cinemas.
